Gratefully, thanks to our internet presence, we receive a lot of inquires via the web and by phone. We tailor our blog posts to answer as many application and product questions as possible but some of the most frequently asked questions are about us. Here are a few of the most common:
Why don’t you have a packaging catalog?
This is probably the one that surprises us the most, not just by the frequency but also by the green minded customers asking it. The fact is that a catalog is a very expensive (and not very green) marketing tool, especially if you are constantly adding and removing items from your price volatile product line. Rather than kill a small forest several times per year, we would really rather share the savings with our customers.
How can I get wholesale pricing on your Globe Guard packaging products?
Unlike some companies that cater to end (retail) users, we are first and foremost a business to business (B2B) supplier so all of our pricing is “wholesale”. Yet we still offer promotions, sales and sizable quantity discounts on most products.
Where are your products made?
ALL of our stock products are made in the USA. In fact, there is only one custom product that we import from a Canadian supplier. We feel this enables us to satisfy the many coast to coast customers we serve and still maintain consistent quality and pricing.
Do you do design and consultant work?
Yes, in some situations, working on a designer fee basis is the best option for our customers. These include preliminary design work when an actual purchase is not imminent. Other circumstances include when the client wants an unbiased opinion and/or requires help in the determining the specs for the packaging they are contemplating. When in doubt, ask and we’ll be glad to discuss your particular needs.
How do you decide on shipping by bundle versus shipping on a pallet?
The size of the order as well as the size of the product helps to determine that. Usually, the line is somewhere around 500 boxes when shipping unitized on a pallet is less expensive compared to shipping as separate, multiple bundles. The other major consideration is the product itself and how likely it is to be damaged if it is shipped in a bundle configuration. For example, the tabs on a die cut mailer box can be very vulnerable to damage and prevent the box from being assembled easily so we usually ship them on a pallet to avoid the potential problem.
Why don’t other packaging suppliers blog the way you do?
We know we share a lot of information regarding our products, methods and even about our customers but we do so gladly because we believe that it helps potential customers and quite frankly, because it helps attract them to our site. Why don’t others do likewise? Mostly because it takes a lot of time and not everyone wants to be as transparent as we choose to be. We sincerely believe the better you know us, the more likely you are to do business with us.
We encourage and welcome questions so if yours is not answered above, please contact us. We will be more than glad to help you in any way possible.
