Green America Packaging

Green America’s Green Business Network (GBN) is the first, largest, and oldest organization of socially and environmentally responsible businesses in the USA. We are very proud to have been named the “preferred packaging supplier” to the Network.

Who Is Green America?

Whether you are a green consumer or company committed to sustainability, Green America makes it easy to find other eco friendly products and services through resources like their National Green Pages®. GBN is unique because even though they are best known as a B2B resource, green minded consumers have discovered them to be an excellent place to locate what can be, hard to find, green products they seek.

Unlike other “certifications” available through organizations with fairly open membership, applicants for GBN’s Approved membership undergo a detailed and comprehensive approval process. Green washing is not acceptable and companies describe their environmental and worker practices.

With high standards like those, it is an honor to be selected as an additional and valuable resource to the Green Business Network membership including “members only” discounts on our Globe Guard Products.com, green packaging Web store and free design and process consultation. For more information including how to join the Green Business Network, please visit: http://www.greenbusinessnetwork.org.

We are truly grateful to the Green America’s Green Business Network leadership for the opportunity to serve the organization and membership.

six bundles (24 rolls) of 3/16” bubble rolls shipping on a 40” X 48” X 60” high pallet

Six bundles (24 rolls) of 3/16” bubble rolls shipping on a 40” X 48” X 60” high pallet

Our Globe Guard® Oxo-Degradable Bubble Packaging 3/16” bubble and our new 5/16” bubble packaging are available by the roll. They are packed in boxes designed to ship via UPS and FedEx without any additional oversized package charges.

Lower usage customers appreciate the convenience but higher volume users find the packaging redundant and costly. So we are now offering bulk pack bundles (4 rolls per bundle) which provide lower product pricing as well as substantially lower shipping costs.

Buying Bulk “By the Bundle” Saves Green

The photo shows six bundles (24 rolls) of 3/16” bubble rolls shipping on a 40” X 48” X 60” high pallet. As an example, compared to shipping the same 24 rolls individually in cases to Irvine, California, here is the difference in cost:

STANDARD SHIPMENT

Product cost: 24 rolls at $15.00 each = $360.00

FedEx Ground shipping charges – $19.65 each = $471.60 (shipping cost)

TOTAL COST: $831.60

BULK SHIPMENT

Six bundles shipping on a pallet via LTL truck

Product cost: 6 bundles at $54.00 per bundle ($13.50 per roll) = $324.00

LTL shipping charges = $120.00 current negotiated rate with no other delivery services are required such as lift gate, dock appointment, etc.

TOTAL COST: $444.00

TOTAL SAVINGS: $387.60

Buying Bulk “By the Bundle” Is Green

Buying bulk saves 24 cartons which are 22 X 22 X 12” high for a total corrugated savings of 528 square feet of corrugated. Everyone agrees that is good but it also saves the energy used to manufacture and transport those cartons. Shipping bulk to you is also more efficient and results in lower procurement costs as well.

We’ve negotiated lower freight rates to the east coast and other parts of the Midwest as well. You can also mix and match our 3/16” and 5/16” bubble packaging so you can have both types on hand for your different packing requirements. If six bundles (24 rolls) is too much bubble for you, the same price per bundle would apply for four bundles (16 rolls) and the shipping costs would be the same, so the potential savings would be comparable.

Also, this is a temporary promotion which may become permanent depending on the response. But in the mean time, these orders cannot be placed through the web store so no other internet store discounts may be applied. Call us at 815-609-3600 and we can accept your order and credit card over the phone.
Please remember, even though 12” wide rolls, perforated every 12” is our standard, stock size; we can provide bubble packaging in just about any roll width, or perforation pattern you may need but minimums may apply.

Call us, or email us at info@globeguardproducts.com if you have any questions at all.

By customer request we have added the following new products to our stock items at our e-commerce store. We sincerely appreciate customers who communicate their needs because it encourages us to add new products to our ever growing product line.

New- 5/16” Globe Guard® Oxo-Biodegradable Bubble Packaging on Rolls

5-16 bio bubble on left, 3-16 on right

5-16 bio bubble on left, 3-16 on right

We were one of the first companies to start offering oxo-biodegradable bubble packaging on rolls. Customers love our 3/16” product but we have occasionally received requests for something “a little heavier” so we are glad to add our new 5/16” bubble to our store. Both products are available and ship in our convenient 22” X 22” X 12” boxes or are available bulk packed with no boxes at a lower cost. This material is reusable and recyclable but if discarded will degrade in a land fill in 12 to 24 months according to ASTM D6954-041 testing. Here are the details and specs on the both products:

3/16” bubble packaging – ideal for light to medium weight products, wrapping and interleaving. The bubble is 3/16 high (top to bottom) and each bubble cell is 3/8” wide. Each roll is 12” wide, 250’ long and is perforated every 12” for convenient use.

5/16” bubble packaging – perfect for heavier product protection or when extra cushioning is desirable. This larger bubble can reduce cost and labor when larger voids need to be filled. The bubble is 5/16” high and each bubble cell is 1” wide. Each roll is 12” wide, 115’ long and is perforated every 12” for easy and fast use. (more…)

  • 15% Discount on Eco Friendly Shipping Labels

Get a 15% Discount on Eco Friendly Shipping Labels!

Many of our customers are dedicated and committed ‘greenies” and we do everything we possibly can to help them accomplish their green “eco consistency” objectives. We constantly seek and add new products such as our biodegradable bubble packaging film or our 100% recycled content inflatable void fill pillows. One of the packaging areas most overlooked is the area of labeling.

100% PCW Labels for Your 100% PCW Shipping Boxes

Globe Guard 100 Percent PCW LabelsIt makes sense, right? Why would you want to apply any other self adhesive label on the boxes you ship out? The end result is a package that is completely 100% post consumer waste and NO new fibers or board were used in the manufacturing of your shipping container and label. Pretty neat when you think about it. Don’t you wish everyone did the same, especially the largest of shippers?

Our Globe Guard 100% PCW shipping labels are in stock on our Web store in six of the most popular sizes though we do have others sizes readily available that we do not show on the store so if you don’t see what you need, please ask. These labels are matte white with 92% brightness and run beautifully on ink jet or laser printers. They are very well packaged (green of course) and it is important to note that in two years we have not received one single quality or damage complaint on this product.

Save 15% Now through the End of October

Use promo code LABELS at checkout and get a 15% discount off our Globe Guard labels. It is our way of helping you to reduce your labeling costs while delivering the greenest possible package to your green minded customers.

Call us if you have any questions or would like to receive a sample sheet of labels to evaluate. We are confident you will like the quality as well as the performance.

Eco Friendly Green Stretch Film Globe GuardSince adding our new oxo-biodegradable stretch wrap films to our Globe Guard® product line we’ve realized the substantial savings potential the product offers. Today, any time you can make a part of your business greener and reduce cost in the process, there is a chance to come out ahead on several different levels.

    Use Less Packaging

Because our pallet wrap and bundling film is exceptionally strong, you are able to down gauge and/or elongate the film more, resulting in fewer wraps and reduced wrapping time. Using less film also reduces procurement time and expense as well as storage space and inventory dollars.

    Waste Less Packaging

Utilizing less film also creates less potential waste for the environment. Our film is recyclable but if it winds up in a land fill it will degrade quickly, (compared to non ox-biodegradable formulations). However, the best way to waste less and create a smaller carbon footprint is to reduce consumption.

    Spend Less on Packaging

Down gauging or greater yield through increased elongation is also good for your bottom line because in the end you decrease the net cost per pound and use fewer pounds. The simple math below quickly proves the point.

    Meaningful Savings (more…)

eBay's new Re-useable Box The new box that eBay has created for their customers to reuse is an excellent concept and it could not come at a better time. People are more focused than ever before on all of the “three R’s” of sustainability,” but especially the one I often refer to as “the other R” or “the forgotten R,” which is “reuse.” Don’t be surprised however if it is not necessarily accepted and heralded in the packaging community as it already has been in green circles. Even though I agree it is a great idea whose time has come, it also is a perfect example of how difficult it is to create a truly green package.

What’s Wrong with the eBay Reusable Box?

Our “one price fits all” sales are always popular because it offers one low price for the products, regardless of quantity being purchased. This also comes at a very good time as many businesses are gearing up for their busy holiday season.

ALL Cubic Box Sizes are included!

For the first time ever, every stock cubic box is on sale, ranging from our very tiny and popular 4” X 4” X 4” to our oversized 20” X 20” X 20”. In between those two sizes we also have available 5”, 6”, 7”, 8”, 9”, 10”, 12”, 13”, 14”, 16”, and 18”.

Remember, these are genuine Globe Guard boxes and are made of 100% post consumer waste, recycled content. They are the greenest boxes available and now at one low price, whether you are buying one bundle or twenty bundles.
